The Routine to Greatness: A No-Nonsense Guide (Part 2)
My riders, welcome back! Last week, we embraced the power of “The Disgust Factor” – how a healthy dose of dissatisfaction can spark the fire for greatness. We also identified your raw “why,” that deep motivation driving your journey.
This week, get ready to unlock even more potential! We’ll delve into two transformative steps:
- Inner Work: We’ll confront those sneaky limitations holding you back. It’s time for a mental and emotional reset!
- Design Your Final Form: The best part, crafting a blueprint for your ultimate success (think: dream life on steroids!).
By the end of this week, you’ll be equipped to supercharge your journey to greatness. Gear up, it’s time to level up!
STEP 3: Do the Inner Work
Now, this is a key part, the part where you unlock the disruption inside of you and start your transformation journey. “The beautiful destruction”.
Before you even move to the doing, you need to begin this journey by catching all the thoughts that come into your head and naming them. This is inner work and it is a deeply painful and freeing process. Your trauma, your limiting beliefs, the bad habits, triggers, and behaviours that have held you back all your life, it is here that you will look them in the eye, and name them.
Inner work is the process by which we become friends with our darkest parts, we no longer run, we face them, we speak to them, we become friends with them, we cry, we scream, we get angry, feel the hurt, the pain and calmly…accept, find the blessing and the lesson from it, and most importantly, let them go.
It’s not going to be easy letting your brain go through this clearing-out process. It is not for the faint of heart. But with this, you start leaving space for new ideas and new thoughts to creep in. A big “AHA” moment for me was realising that you are not the thoughts in your head. You can control them and replace them with something better. I am still on that journey but let me share some things that have helped me
- Meditation
- Journaling
- Shadow Work
- Connecting to my spirituality and finding God
- Blocking out negative people in my life
- Intentional social media use (have to be careful with being too intertwined in other people’s lives)
- Chronic acceptance of all the traumatic things that have happened to me.
You are going to go on a long journey of working backwards from your current areas of compromise and triggers to the dynamics that created them. It is a beautiful thing to do the inner work, a patient exploration and an understanding of your own history.
STEP 4: Design your Final Form
Alright, now for the fun part! You’ve gotten disgusted with your current state, unearthed your “why,” and begun the inner work. But what’s next? This is where you brainstorm your ultimate self, your “Final Form.” It’s what successful people do all the time – manifesting, meeting your higher being, whatever you call it. I call it your Version 2.0.
Here’s the drill: Find a quiet space, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. Imagine yourself at the pinnacle of success. Who are you in this dream world? Start from the moment you wake up. What time is it? What’s your breakfast routine? Do you hit the gym before a power meeting with your team? Where do you even work?
Map out your entire Monday to Sunday. What are your weekend mornings like? Who are your friends? Married? Kids? Describe your apartment, its location – everything! Who’s emailing you with exciting offers? What promotions or appointments are you receiving? (In my case, my Final Form, Tutu, works for the government as a digital perceptionist and online media strategist. My inbox overflows with emails from powerful figures seeking consultations on their online personas. I can practically hear my name being mentioned as a potential minister in the upcoming administration!)
Don’t hold back on the details. Write it all down: what you wear, where your friends hang out, even your pyjamas! Feel the excitement bubbling up? This is you, unleashed! Remember, Deepak Chopra’s first law of success talks about potentiality. We can create anything we truly desire, but first, we have to envision it.
Why do this?
Because when you imagine your Final Form’s life, work, and friends, it subtly shifts your mindset. You start to subconsciously reprogram your days. You embody your Final Form’s beliefs and behaviours. Even if you’re not quite there yet, you’ll find yourself taking daily steps closer to that ideal self.
For example, if your Final Form has a supportive network of successful women, you might start to gravitate away from friends who don’t share that drive. Your Final Form is your life blueprint. It’s a dynamic document – tweak, add, remove as needed. But always keep that ultimate vision in mind. It’ll be your compass, guiding you towards greatness with every decision. The answers lie within you, waiting to be unlocked.
See you next week!
