Fear Not, My Friend
Storms happen to everyone. They are life’s uninvited interruptions. They are painfully delaying, limiting, and unrelenting. When storms come, they do not knock politely or give notice; they arrive with force, shaking everything you thought was solid. Storms target your faith, shake your vision, and challenge your progress.
You were so sure of where you were going…You had the roadmap, the plan, the vision. You were confident that this was going to be “Your Year”… but then the storm arose, beclouding your path and leaving you stranded. You’re just there, where do you start from in battling this storm!? “This is too much”, “You will not understand”, “I am overwhelmed”, “I cannot handle all this”, “I am all alone”, “When will this end”…you say one or all of these things.
What happened!? You were once a visionary person! You chased your purpose and destiny with such optimism. You knew where you were going. You had direction. You had a map for God’s sake…and this storm comes!?
You were not careless!
You were not unspiritual!
You gave it your best!
You did everything right!
“What did I do to get here???”
…the reality of storms…. They have arisen and distracted your sense of vision.
You can’t even find your bearing. The storms have affected you so much you don’t even know where in the sea you are. You can’t find a way. You now have no idea where you are or how to move forward. The waves of uncertainty are relentless, and the noise of the winds drowns out even your loudest cry for help.
Storms have a way of obscuring more than just vision—they affect your speed, this storm has impeded your pace, limited your impact, slowed your voice, and sometimes, made you invisible to the very people who could help you. You are hard to find, caught in the fog of the storm, and you can’t even cry out for help. You are hard to find. The storms are so hazy people cannot locate you and accelerate your path towards your destiny. They passed you and didn’t know you needed their help. The pain of being unseen, unheard, or misunderstood is one of the storm’s cruellest effects.
It is a terrible thing to shout for help and not have anyone help you because the noise of the storm is louder than your voice and cries for help. You are shouting, yet people cannot hear you. You are speaking, but they cannot hear you. The winds and waves have overwhelmed the sound of your voice so much that even your best efforts cannot be seen above the storm.
Based on your map, this is not where you should be!?
…but the storms arose…
My friend…
…the storms have done their damage, I know…
But let me remind you: Do not lose your optimism. Do not lose your passion, your zest, your vision, your spark, or your light because of a storm.
It’s easy to think storms are evidence that you’ve made a wrong turn, but often, they are proof that you are on the right path. The storm came because you dared to journey to the other side.
You dared to move…
Yes, storms bring pain and loss. They rob you of things—plans, jobs, money, relationships, opportunities, or even your sense of self. They leave you clutching at the last strings of courage, crying out for help while exhaustion whispers lies to your heart. Battling storms leaves you tired and that exhaustion can reprogram your thinking. Exhaustion can make you say or do things you don’t mean, but even in this state, your life remains the most valuable thing.
What Do You Do With Storms?
- Acknowledge them. Take stock of what the storm has done. Ignoring the damage leaves you vulnerable.
- Cry out for help. There is no shame in admitting that you can’t handle it alone. Sometimes opening up is the bravest thing you can do.
- Stay hopeful. The storm has done its damage, yes, but don’t let it rob you of your vision, your fire, and your faith.
Storms remind us of what truly matters. They push us to the brink and force us to reevaluate, to cry out, and to admit we need something greater than ourselves.
And here’s the best part: The One who calms storms is still in control. The winds obey His voice. The waves quiet at His command. He will restore your peace and turn what you’ve lost into praise.
Fear not….
FEAR NOT!!!
Your journey isn’t over. The storm is not the end; it’s part of the story. And if you watch with wonder, you’ll see it—everything you thought was lost will somehow, miraculously, be turned into gain.
Fear not. It will all turn unto you for a praise.
I will see you on the other side, my friend 🧡
