Designing 2024: A Blueprint for Intentional Living
Life becomes so simple when you know your vision; if something differs from your destiny and it doesn’t collaborate in unity with your vision it becomes easy to say no.
This is how I designed my life
If there’s one thing I won’t joke about, it’s taking the time to fully design your life and being intentional about what your year will be about. In 2022, I stumbled upon a transformative video where Candice Brathwaite spoke about how everything changed when she decided to be intentional about her life. I promised myself I’d be intentional about creating the life of my dreams every year. I did it in 2022, and let me tell you, it truly changed my life.
2023 signaled big things for me. My company grew beyond my wildest imagination, I reached my targets, I became more disciplined, achieved all my personal goals, and established stellar routines and habits.
One thing people strongly underestimate is what it takes to achieve goals. I used to be like that. Every year, I’d write generic goals (lose weight, go to the gym, become an influencer, save money…lol) with no game plan or actionable steps…I was just existing.
Your mission and goals are tied to a vision only you have. Before you enter the new year, it’s time to have a game plan.
Designing your life is about becoming friends with your future self; it’s entering into a manifestation partnership with everything you are about to become. Trust me; it’s a game-changer.
I typically recommend taking 1-2 weeks of complete isolation, shutting out the noise, and truly being in a state of deep reflection. But, hey, do what works for you as long as you get this done.
This is your 2024 game plan
STEP 1
First, review your year with the 2023 Year Compass. It’s a booklet that helps you reflect on your year and plan the next one. This is crucial; be honest with yourself, hold yourself accountable, celebrate victories, and learn from mistakes. Quietly invest a few hours and use this booklet. It’s okay, things are about to get awesome for you. You can download the Year Compass here.
STEP 2
Next thing I want you to do is ask yourself: What is your 2024 going to be about? What is the theme? What will you be focusing on? Take a deep breath, play something instrumental, say a quick prayer to God to speak to you (if you are religious), and write. This is not you writing; this is your future self. What do you want to get out of 2024? Who is he/she going to be? What are they going to be doing? What is the mission? Write it out. For example, for myself, I deemed 2024, “Metamorphosis: The Greatness Bootcamp.” This is what I wrote:
[In 2024 I am going to war with my old self. To become an all-round excellent being. discipline is my watchword, consistency is my goal. Greatness is the vision and in 2024 I design my life. I will lay away mindsets that have held me back. I break generational traditions, traumas, behaviors and habits. it all ends with me. I will be intentional about curating every aspect of my dream life. I will fully step into my light, my power, my potential and my aura. I will fall wholeheartedly in love with myself. My year will be a year of soul-searching, self-loving, self-improvement and self-advancement…]
STEP 3
Now, what do you want to achieve in 2024? Write it down. What do you want to achieve financially, personally, in your business, in your life…everything? Write it out! It’s okay if you have multiple purposes. Write the purpose and set out your intentions, goals, and targets for each of them. Make sure your goals are realistic, specific and achievable.
STEP 4
Then, break these goals down into quarterly goals. This is something I learned in the 12 Week Year. Make your goals more achievable by breaking them down into 12 weeks each quarter. You can watch more about it here.
In essence, “The 12 Week Year” provides a structured and time-sensitive approach to goal-setting, promoting focus, adaptability, and consistent progress. It’s about achieving more in a shorter timeframe by breaking down big goals into smaller, manageable tasks and regularly reassessing your efforts.
So, for example, if your 2024 goal is to save 1,000,000 Naira. 1,000,000 divided by 4 is N250,000 so in your first 12 weeks you have to save N250,000. Divide that by 12 weeks and you’ll see you have to save about N20,000 each week. The whole essence of the 12 week year is to help you see that your goals shouldn’t overwhelm you. If you break it down into small actionable steps.
STEP 5
Now, it’s time to get visual. Create your vision board. You can use this desktop template HERE. Or, I’ve got one for your iPad HERE,
STEP 6
Manifest your year. Write a letter of congratulations to yourself, telling yourself all the things you achieved in 2024. Write it in a “Dear [Your Name]” format, expressing pride for achieving your goals. Manifest it.
Now that you have all of this, design the hell out of your life. Speak to that future you. Build the life of the person who has already achieved all these things. What are her habits? What areas of compromise need work? What is her daily, weekly, and monthly routine? Build that too. What are her aspirations? Where does she see herself next year? This becomes your lifestyle.
Oh, and try the Me+ app to help build your habits and routines.
And there you have it. For those looking for a way to be more intentional about the year, this guide is to help you find your purpose and your vision. It’s to help you find alignment in everything you do and, in doing so, move daily with conviction toward achieving all you set out to do.
I hope this helps. Good luck, and I hope to see you at the end of the year fulfilled and proud of yourself. 😊
