Are the leaves of all trees green all the time?
When people say you should “trust the process” what they don’t tell you is that really, the process is you.
You are the process, and once you begin to trust in yourself, the entirety of your life will also be based on you. Isn’t that amazing?
I want to share something that has completely changed my mindset, and it is this:
Before you start feeling negatively, unsure, or doubting where you are headed in life, assuming you’re in a negative space right now, or your life is not what you imagined it to be, maybe you are in a sticky situation that you don’t know how you are going to get out of, or even if you feel like absolute crap right now, you have to know…within your soul that it’s all good.
There are days when I do not feel like even getting out of bed. Those types of days where it’s “the world needs to leave me alone” type of days. I do feel that way from time to time. But even in that, at the root of it all, you’ve got to know that it’s all good. It’s not that you have to be positive all the time, jumping off the wall type of energy…nobody can sustain that level of bubbles. You’re going to have days where you don’t feel as positive and cheery as you want to feel and that’s okay. The question is… on those days, on any day, how does your spirit feel? What does your spirit know? Do you know who the hell you are?!
Think of it like a tree, the leaves are the most temporary part of it, right? And sometimes the leaves will sprout, and sometimes they wilt, and sometimes they quit and they fall off entirely. But the trunk of the tree, or the roots, lasts much longer. Unshakeable, Firm, Knowing. That’s why people call it “Groundedness”. A state of balance and well-being.
Let me go further. The leaves are your emotions and your thoughts, they are the daily physical occurrences of our lives (good and bad) and the root is your soul or your spirit, and as long as your root is healthy, your leaves will always be able to sprout again. Regardless of their current state.
Are the leaves of all trees green all the time? No, Sometimes they are full and lush- let’s call those days your very happy days, days where everything is working out for you and everyone can see it. Sometimes they are dull and they droop- the days you lose your shine. Sometimes they change colour - the days your life hits a potential decline. Sometimes they curl inwards, they become rigid and shrink - the days you are in a state of withdrawal or feeling overwhelmed. And sometimes they all together crumble and fall - no energy, no motivation, you give up.
You see, in all these circumstances, in all these changes that your leaves will experience, you have to feel your preferred reality, regardless of what the physical circumstances or your emotions or thoughts are showing you. Those leaves, are what you see right now, what you feel, but they are temporary - because they will sprout, they will change colour, they will wilt and they will fall off entirely BUT remember, new leaves will ALWAYS sprout.
Leaves are temporary, the root, however, is YOU. The root is your identity. If the root is the root of a maple tree, what kind of leaves will it grow? Maple leaves! A Maple root cannot grow up to be an oak tree sprouting oak leaves. So the root of a maple tree is not concerned about what kind of tree it will grow up to be. It’s not using the leaves to identify itself because it already knows itself, it already knows the laws of life - I am, what I say I am.
As long as you know that your roots are good, your roots are positive. Your roots are in accordance with the type of leaves you wish to see…who really cares what kind of leaves are on your tree right now?
Your emotions, thoughts, or physical circumstances, all they are, are the leaves of the tree. They just confirm what your root already is, what your seed already is, which is you, which is your identity, which is how you identify, how you name yourself. How you claim yourself. If they are not appeasing to you, you can use this as an opportunity to redirect yourself or, rather, to redefine yourself. You can re-identify yourself according to what you want it to confirm for you.
Once you know you are in spiritual accordance with the kind of physical circumstances that you want to see, you’re all good. The leaves of the old you no longer concern you. The emotions, thoughts, or physical circumstances of the old you no longer concern you, no matter what they may look like. Yes, you are seeing them, you are experiencing them, you are interacting with them but you are not feeling them in your root. You are emotionally detached from it.
Tend to your roots, not what you see around you.
Go home, go home to yourself, to your spirit, to your identity. How do you identify? What is your name? How do you name yourself? And that’s all you’ve got to do. Whoever confirms that for you, if they do not confirm that for you, that is none of your business. It’s about what’s going on inside of you, that matters.
Once you have changed by law, your reality must change. A maple seed will grow up to be a maple tree. So, however you identify, that’s who you will grow up to be darling, and your reality will confirm that for you.
But, we do live in a physical world, a world of delay, which is why your old leaves need time to fall. Your old physical circumstances need time to dissipate, hence…patience.
Know who you are, confirm that with yourself, claim it, be patient, and know that it is all good.
I wish you well.
